4-0 is not a good score line. Especially when your team is the 0.
I think I got about 30 minutes into that game before I started to wish Geelong could substitute the Socceroos. Yes, I know they play a different game, but they're such a polished act. Geelong are such brilliant team players, and they take command of the field. The Socceroos? At the moment, not so much.
*sigh*
I bet those last two goals were a kick in the teeth.
ReplyDeleteActually, the most annoying thing was that even after they scored the fourth goal, and there was no way on earth the Socceroos could ever possibly beat them, the Germans still kept up such a good defense that we couldn't even score one goal in the last ten minutes, no matter how many chances we had.
ReplyDeleteWould it have killed them to grant us a pity goal? 4-1 would have been slightly less embarrassing that 4-0...
I swear, for those last ten minutes the Germans were just playing well out of spite.
